TalkOn

TalkOn is an AI language-learning app for iPhone and iPad from Beijing InOrange Technology Co., Ltd. that focuses on speaking practice with AI tutors. It covers English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Korean, and it is aimed at learners who can read and write a foreign language but do not yet speak it fluently, as well as teachers, fluent speakers and people who use languages in business.

TalkOn's AI speaking coach holds conversations in the target language and adapts to different languages and difficulty levels, using real human pronunciation samples to make its voice more lifelike. Learners pick from role-playing scenarios and speak without worrying about grammar or vocabulary mistakes. In grammar classes, the learner talks to the AI teacher in real time in their native language and can ask questions at any point.

Pressing the shutter in TalkOn translates the learner's surroundings into the language being learned. The AI engine weaves each day's new words into stories so vocabulary is learned in context, and a spoken-language training camp returns common expressions for any typed or selected topic. Other AI tools include translation, reply suggestions, grammar detection, pronunciation speed control, a simultaneous translation tool for travel and a Business Email Assistant for work emails.

TalkOn is free to download, with in-app purchases that include TalkOn Prime at $5.99 a week, monthly plans at $12.99, yearly plans at $89.99 with a 7-day free period or $99.99 with a 3-day free period for new users, and TalkOn Lifetime Premium at $129.99. It requires iOS 13.0 or iPadOS 13.0 or later and also runs on macOS 13.0 with an Apple M1 chip or later and on visionOS 1.0.
