Caption Remover

Caption Remover is a single-purpose web tool that erases burned-in subtitles and captions from short videos. It is meant for people revising their own footage, such as removing an outdated caption before adding corrected or translated text in an editor. It does not create subtitles, download videos from social links or recover original editing projects, and it is currently labelled a public beta.

After signing in, the user uploads an SDR H.264 or HEVC MP4 or MOV clip, previews it and checks the exact output size. Basic mode finds subtitles automatically without a selection box. High-quality mode cleans one fixed area that the user draws around every caption line, using the external UnmarkAI processor. Jobs run in a server queue and can take minutes, after which the cleaned MP4 is compared and downloaded.

Clips can be up to 60 seconds and 2048 MB, and output uses a 720p-equivalent pixel budget that keeps the aspect ratio, so HD and 4K sources are resized. Supported audio is kept or converted to AAC. Up to five clips can be queued in one workspace for serial processing. Cleaned regions are rebuilt by temporal inpainting, results vary with motion and background detail, and the selected area does not follow moving text.

The first two successful Basic videos are free, and one private feedback submission adds two more Basic uses. Paid credits are needed for high quality: Basic costs 1 credit per second and high quality 4 per second, with a 60-credit minimum. Monthly plans give 3,600 or 7,200 credits, and one-time packs give 6,000 or 14,400. Uploaded and output files expire within 24 hours of job creation.
