Speechless

Speechless is an iPhone and iPad app from developer Elsayed Hussein that turns audio into text. It transcribes speech in its original language or translates it into English. It is meant for people who receive voice messages, record memos or keep audio files and would rather read or copy the words than listen again, including voice notes from messaging apps such as WhatsApp and Messages.

Audio reaches Speechless in three ways: a recording made in the app, an imported audio file, or a voice message shared from another app. From the iPhone share menu, the user chooses Transcribe the audio or Translate the audio, and the result appears as text that can be copied to save or share. If those actions are missing from the share menu, they can be turned on under Edit Actions.

Speechless accepts MP3, MP4, MPEG, MPGA, M4A, WAV and WebM files. It is free to download with in-app purchases: a Monthly Subscription at $2.99 and a Yearly Subscription at $24.99. It requires iOS 15 or later on iPhone and iPod touch, iPadOS 15 on iPad, or visionOS 1.0 on Apple Vision, and its interface is in English and Italian. The developer states that no data is collected from the app.
