SnapMerge

AI best take for group photos

About SnapMerge

SnapMerge is a web photo tool that combines two or three near-identical group shots into a single keeper image. It is meant for family portraits, travel groups, events and school or team photos where one person blinked, looked away or pulled an awkward expression in an otherwise good frame, so that nobody has to settle for the least bad shot.

The user uploads 2 to 3 photos taken from the same spot within moments of each other, each up to 6 MB. SnapMerge compares each person's face across the frames, picks the strongest real expression, aligns it and blends it into a chosen layout frame. Bodies, hands, clothing, background and people who already looked fine stay as they were on that layout frame.

It can replace closed eyes with open ones from another frame, swap in a better expression for someone who turned away, and choose a different source frame for each person. It does not draw new faces, smiles or teeth; every expression comes from pixels in the uploaded photos. When the scale or angle difference between frames is too large for a clean alignment, it skips that face.

The first version is capped at three source photos, and results improve when angle, people, lighting and timing match closely. Uploads go to private temporary storage, are read in server memory and are deleted after each attempt, while the merged result is held briefly behind a signed link. No prices are published, and users may only upload photos they own or have permission to process.

Frequently asked questions

How many photos should be uploaded?
Two to three similar photos from the same camera angle and scene; the first version is limited to three.
Can SnapMerge fix closed eyes?
Yes, when another uploaded frame shows the same person with open eyes or a better expression.
Does it change who people are?
No. It moves real pixels from one uploaded frame and leaves clothing, bodies, hands and background on the chosen layout frame.
Does it invent smiles or teeth?
No. Each selected expression, including eyes, mouth and teeth, comes from one real uploaded photo.
What if the photos are too different?
Use a tighter set of shots; SnapMerge skips face transfers when scale or angle differ too much.
