About Snapkin

Snapkin is a calorie and protein tracker that works from a photograph of a meal instead of a barcode scan or food database search. It is built for people who have quit other calorie trackers because logging felt like too much work, letting them photograph a plate and get calories and protein without weighing ingredients.

After a photo is taken, Snapkin names what is on the plate, works out portion sizes from the plate and any knife or fork in frame, and counts cooking fat and sauce most trackers miss. When one detail would change the estimate materially, it asks a single question and shows how much the answer matters, then adds the calories and protein to the day without anything to confirm or save.

Snapkin remembers past meals so a repeated dish can be logged again in a few taps with no new photo, and it learns habits over weeks so familiar meals need fewer questions. It reads weight from Apple Health or Health Connect, suggests a calorie target that adapts to results after a month, works in ten languages, and can suggest meal ideas from a photo of a fridge, cupboard, or restaurant menu.

Snapkin is available on the App Store and Google Play, with widgets for the home screen and iPhone Lock Screen and dials on Apple Watch and Wear OS. It is one subscription at €9.99 a month or a discounted yearly launch price, with a three-day free trial and no card required; there is no free version. On a typical meal it was tested within 17% of a kitchen scale, and it offline-queues photos with no signal.

Tested on 500 scale-weighed meals, a typical meal photographed with a phone was within 17% of the scale, and within 10% over a simulated week.
Do I have to weigh my food or scan barcodes?
No; portion size is worked out from the plate and utensils in the photo, with no scale, barcode scanner or food database.
Can I try it before I pay?
Yes; there are three free days with no card required, starting the day after the first meal or coach question is logged.
How much does Snapkin cost, and is there a free version?
One subscription, monthly or yearly, paid through the App Store or Google Play; there is no free version.
What languages is the app in?
English, Chinese, Hindi, Spanish, French, Bengali, Portuguese, Indonesian, German and Dutch.
