Roll (iOS app)

Roll is an AI video production platform from Roll Camera LLC for recording and producing professional-looking videos with a smartphone and a browser. It records video calls at cinema quality, adds camera motion and special effects, and edits and publishes the result in minutes. Roll is aimed at people recording video podcasts, executive interviews, webinars and virtual conferences who do not have a studio, an editor or VFX staff.

Capture uses an anamorphic view that combines portrait and wide framing in HDR, and audio is taken from a 3-microphone capture at 8x the bitrate of an average call with noise cancellation. From a single phone, Roll produces wide and close-up multi-camera shots with bokeh finishes. Generative AI algorithms add studio camera movements such as dolly, crane and pan without the phone moving, and VFX such as lower thirds and headlines are added with a click.

In post-production, Roll AI assembles an automatic, edited multi-camera video minutes after a shoot ends. The Roll Editor transcribes the video and loads it into a text-based editor, where lines are cut, camera angles changed and movements or effects added with a click; teams collaborate in it in real time. Finished videos publish directly to social platforms with automatic reformatting, such as portrait for TikTok, 16x9 for YouTube and square for Instagram.

Roll is free on the App Store with no in-app purchases listed. The app runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15.4 or iPadOS 15.4 or later and is also listed for Apple Vision; Roll works with a smartphone and a browser. Roll is available in English. The App Store privacy summary says contact info, user content, identifiers, usage data and diagnostics may be collected and linked to the user.
