Question Maker AI

Question Maker AI is an iPhone and iPad app by Aritra Neogi that generates question papers from text. It takes scanned or typed source material and uses AI to produce questions with their answers, organised into an editable question paper. It is designed for educators who build tests, quizzes and study guides, and question generation works without an internet connection.

A new paper starts by scanning notes or textbook pages with the built-in document scanner, which handles multiple pages and can pull images from the Photos app, or by highlighting sections and inserting text by hand. Topic-based generation focuses the questions on a chosen subject or curriculum area, and worldwide language support lets papers be written in the language of the classroom. The scanner can also be opened from a home screen widget.

Generated papers can be saved without limit, merged with existing papers into larger assessments, and the most recent draft is kept automatically whether or not it was saved. Questions can be shuffled each time a paper is shared, and a refined viewing format gives per-question grading options and control over individual questions. Papers are shared as text or PDF with optional shuffling, custom header and footer text and LaTeX formatting, with or without answers.

Question Maker AI is free to download, and all features including question generation are free when used offline. Full access is free for seven days, after which a subscription of $1.99 monthly or $17.99 yearly gives unlimited access; subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least one day before the billing cycle ends. The app requires iOS 18.0 or iPadOS 18.0 or later, also runs on Apple Vision with visionOS 2.0, and collects only user content and diagnostics not linked to identity.
