Moocat

Moocat is an AI input method, a keyboard app for iPhone and iPad, that adds AI help to everyday typing. It offers suggestions and polishing while writing, reply suggestions in chats, and translation between languages. It is meant for replying to messages, writing emails, noting down ideas and communicating across languages, with uses in office work, study, travel abroad and daily social chat. Moocat is built around Chinese pinyin input.

While the user types, Moocat suggests content in real time, corrects grammar and polishes wording. Its smart reply feature reads the current chat and proposes suitable replies, and AI translation converts text typed in one language into the target language in real time. The developer states that input runs locally on the device, that typed content is not uploaded, and that the app collects no data from its users.

The keyboard supports full pinyin, several double pinyin schemes such as Xiaohe, Ziranma, Microsoft and Sogou, a nine-grid layout and a 17-key double pinyin layout that uses the Rime engine to resolve ambiguous key presses. A built-in calculator shows results for typed expressions in the candidate bar. Keyboard height, key font weight and candidate font size are adjustable, and the 26-key layout can show an optional number row.

Moocat is free to download with in-app purchases: a monthly subscription at $7.99, a semi-annual subscription at $49.99, an annual subscription at $89.99, a Premium purchase at $9.99, and a $1.99 purchase that unlocks all cats. Some purchases can be shared through Family Sharing. The app requires iOS 17.2 or later and also runs on Macs with an Apple M1 chip and on Apple Vision.
