FigPad

FigPad is an AI scientific figure generator for researchers producing journal figures, graphical abstracts, conference slides, teaching visuals, grant proposals, theses, and posters. It targets academic users across research moments who need publication-ready visuals without manually assembling every label, arrow, and shape in a separate design tool, and who still want to keep editing the result afterward.

A user types a description, uploads a hand sketch, uploads a reference figure to copy its style, or uploads a paper PDF, and FigPad generates a first draft in the same workspace. The generation is treated as a conversation, so a user can ask for a color, label, or layout change without restating the whole prompt, or redraw just one region with a lasso tool.

FigPad covers text-to-figure, sketch-to-image, reference-guided restyling, and paper-to-poster generation, using image models such as GPT Image 2 and Nano Banana 2/Pro. Raster figures can be vectorized into layered SVG, where text stays as text and shapes stay separate, and figures export as PNG, SVG, or editable PPTX for continued work in PowerPoint or Illustrator.

FigPad gives new accounts free credits with no card required, then charges per action: 2 credits per generation (4 with Nano Banana Pro) and 4 credits to vectorize a figure. Paid options include one-time credit packs from $12 for 95 credits up to $249 for 3,000 credits, plus monthly and yearly subscriptions; FigPad states it does not train AI models on uploaded content.
