Mangra

Mangra, listed as Manga Translator – Mangra, is an AI manga translator and reader for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It translates manga, manhwa, manhua, comics and webtoons in more than 50 languages, online or offline, including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, English, Arabic, French and Spanish. It is for readers who want to read comics from their own files in a language they understand. Mangra does not host or distribute manga.

Mangra opens ZIP, CBZ, RAR, CBR and PDF files and reads content from Files, Photos or its built-in browser. Free local translation uses Apple's built-in translation engine and a dedicated on-device model for Japanese text recognition, so manga files stay on the device and pages can be translated offline. Cloud AI translation in the Pro plan sends only the recognized text, never the images or files themselves.

The reader has customizable reading settings, a scroll mode for manhwa and webtoons, Tap to Translate for single pages, and custom fonts for translated text. Mangra Pro adds unlimited AI translations with a choice of 5 premium AI models, automatic translation of whole chapters in the reader or the browser, AI image upscaling for low-quality pages, an edit mode for each translation bubble, and a system-wide shortcut for Safari and Photos.

Mangra is free to download with unlimited reading and local translation. Pro access costs $4.99 weekly, $9.99 monthly or $49.99 yearly as an in-app purchase. The app requires iOS 18.0 or later, iPadOS 18.0 or later, or macOS 15.0 on a Mac with an Apple M1 chip, and it also runs on Apple Vision. Its interface is available in English and 40 more languages.
