Live Transcribe

Live Transcribe, also called Ai note taker, is an iPhone and iPad app from Epiphany Labs that records speech and converts it to text in real time. It is used for lectures, interviews, meetings and voice memos, and is aimed at people who prefer reading notes to replaying recordings, including professionals in legal, medical and business work who dictate prescriptions, advice and meeting notes.

Recording starts with one tap, and Live Transcribe converts the audio to text as it is spoken using speech recognition. Recordings can be paused, resumed and played back. Transcription works online or offline, so notes can be taken without an internet connection. Files can be searched, edited and renamed inside the app, and a transcription can be exported to another text editing app.

Live Transcribe exports transcriptions as TXT, DOCX or PDF files along with the recorded audio, and shares them by email, messaging or other apps. Transcriptions are stored and synced through iCloud, so they can be opened on iPhone, iPad and Mac. The app offers unlimited recording and transcription length across 120+ languages, although the app interface itself is listed in English only.

Live Transcribe is free to download, and voice recording is free. Transcription and other premium features require a subscription after a 3-day free trial. Listed in-app purchases include a one-year subscription at $19.99 and one-week and one-month subscriptions from $1.99. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. The app requires iOS 15.0 or later and supports Family Sharing.
