Imagine Tales

Imagine Tales is a storytelling app for iPhone and iPad in which children create their own stories and parents review them before they are shared. A child picks a theme or genre such as a fairy tale, adventure or mystery, builds characters with their own names, ages and emotions, and writes the tale. It is made for families with children aged about 9 to 11 who want a guided, ad-free creative space.

Once a story is written, Imagine Tales uses AI to generate up to 9 illustrations for it. When the child finishes, the story goes to a parent, who can approve or decline it from the parent account. Approved stories can be shared with friends inside the app, where children send and accept friend requests and read, like and comment on each other's stories in a monitored environment.

A parent account controls all child activity and can manage up to 5 child profiles, each creating stories independently while sharing the same premium features. Sign-in works with Apple and Google accounts, and the app carries no advertising. Alongside the social features, Imagine Tales is intended to help children practise writing, storytelling and emotional expression, with parents reading and approving stories together with them.

Imagine Tales is free to download with a free trial and in-app purchases: Extra Story at $0.99 and Premium Access at $19.99. It requires iOS 18.0 or iPadOS 18.0 or later and runs on Macs with an M1 chip or later, though it is not verified for macOS. It is available in English and rated 9+ for infrequent horror or fear themes. Purchase, contact and financial information may be collected and linked to the user.
