FoodCheck

FoodCheck, listed on the App Store as Food Scanner: AI Label Check, is an iPhone app that reads food labels and ingredient lists from a photo and explains what a product contains. It is meant for shoppers who want to understand a product's nutritional profile, allergens and fit with their diet before buying it. Using FoodCheck takes three steps. The user points the phone's camera at a food label or ingredients list and takes a clear picture. The AI then interprets the ingredients and evaluates nutritional quality, allergens and other factors. Finally, FoodCheck shows the results, including a score, calorie information and notes on how the product may affect health over time, so complicated ingredient lists do not have to be deciphered by hand.

Each FoodCheck result includes a nutritional score from A to E, calorie counts, allergen details and a check against dietary needs such as vegan, vegetarian or pescetarian. Allergen warnings flag ingredients such as gluten, dairy and nuts, and dietary filters show whether an item matches the user's preferences. A health impact overview describes the possible long-term effects of the product on the user's well-being.
