About Plantsnap

Plantsnap is an AI plant identifier for iPhone and iPad that recognizes plants, trees and flowers from a photo. It returns the species name with useful plant details, diagnoses visible health problems and gives care guidance. Plantsnap is built for gardeners, plant lovers, hikers, homeowners and anyone who wants quick plant information from a picture, and it is published by Tecmanic, LLC.

To identify a plant, the user takes a photo of a leaf, flower, tree or houseplant, and Plantsnap's AI returns an identification within seconds. For plant health, the app checks visible symptoms and gives practical guidance on disease signs, pests, watering problems and other care issues. On supported iOS 27 devices with Apple Intelligence enabled, scans can optionally run through Apple Private Cloud Compute.

Plantsnap covers indoor plants, outdoor gardens, wild plants, weeds, flowers, trees and succulents, along with common lookups such as poison ivy. Care tips address light, watering, soil and maintenance. Plants can be saved to My Garden with watering reminders, and subscribers can add dated notes and photos to plant journals and later edit or delete those entries.

Plantsnap is free to download with in-app purchases, with Premium priced at $4.99 per week or $24.99 per year. It requires iOS 17.0 or later on iPhone, iPadOS 17.0 on iPad, macOS 14.0 on a Mac with an Apple M1 chip or later, or visionOS 1.0. The app is available in English and 10 more languages, and collected purchase, identifier and usage data is not linked to the user's identity.
