FaceBlur

FaceBlur blurs, pixelates, or covers faces in photos online, letting users review each detected face before downloading the edited image.

About FaceBlur

FaceBlur is a browser tool for hiding faces in photographs before they are shared. It applies a blur, a pixelation effect, or an emoji mask over selected faces so a photo can be posted without identifying the people in it. It is aimed at schools and communities publishing event photos, journalists and researchers handling sensitive material, and teams and creators removing identifying faces from screenshots and social posts.

A user uploads one image in PNG, JPG, JPEG, WEBP, or AVIF format, up to 5 MB, and FaceBlur detects the faces in it automatically. Each detected face can be covered individually using blur, pixelation, or an emoji, and the result appears beside the original so the two can be compared side by side before the edited image is downloaded.

FaceBlur offers three masking styles: face blur to soften detail while keeping the photo readable, pixelation for a stronger cover, and an emoji cover that hides a face completely. Coverage can be applied selectively, so only the people who need privacy are masked, and a crowded photo can be reviewed face by face before the mask style is changed.

FaceBlur works on still images only; it does not accept video uploads. Images are uploaded one at a time so every face can be checked before the result is downloaded, and each file must be 5.0 MB or smaller. Its privacy policy explains how uploaded images are handled.
