About DiffFind

DiffFind is an AI document and text comparison tool that compares plain text, documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, structured data and API requests, combining deterministic diffing with AI-powered semantic analysis. It serves business users checking contracts and invoices, everyday users comparing drafts, and power users and developers automating comparisons through an API.

A user pastes text, chooses a file, or loads content from a URL or cURL command as the before and after versions, then chooses a format and comparison options to see the differences side by side, by character, word, sentence, line or paragraph. An optional semantic analysis layer can then be added to explore the meaning, severity and verified details behind each change.

DiffFind supports plain text, JSON, YAML, XML, CSV, PDF, Excel spreadsheets and Word documents, comparing every sheet of a spreadsheet at once and highlighting additions, deletions and moved text with surrounding context. Semantic Find lets a user search documents by meaning rather than exact keywords, and optional AI analysis highlights material changes, checking cited facts against the source documents with a verification status shown.

DiffFind is reachable through its web app, a Chrome extension that opens it in one click, and a REST API with agent-ready functions for automating comparisons. Text entered on the page is sent to the DiffFind app only when a comparison is run, and nothing is stored on that page by default; the core comparison works without AI, with semantic analysis as an optional added layer.

Frequently asked questions

What is AI document comparison?
It finds the exact differences between two versions of a document and then helps you understand whether the meaning changed too.
Can DiffFind compare API requests and responses?
Yes, by loading two URLs or cURL commands, or pasting JSON, YAML or XML payloads to compare by path.
What is Semantic Find?
A way to search documents by meaning rather than exact words, locating relevant passages even when terminology differs.
Does DiffFind store my files?
Not by default; text entered on the page goes to the app only when Find difference is clicked, and nothing is stored on the page.
Which file formats does DiffFind support?
Plain text, JSON, YAML, XML, CSV, PDF, Excel spreadsheets (XLS and XLSX), and Word documents (DOCX).
Do I need AI to compare documents?
No, the core comparison is consistent and repeatable without AI; semantic analysis is an optional added layer.
