About Dial

Dial is a communication stack that gives an AI agent a real phone number for calls, SMS, iMessage, and WhatsApp. It is built for developers and teams building AI agents that need to act in the real world, such as verifying with an SMS code, calling a vendor, or messaging on WhatsApp. Dial is built by Genway, with a team across San Francisco and Tel Aviv.

An AI agent can set up Dial itself by following a prompt that points it to Dial's skills file, which signs up, provisions a number, and gets the agent's phone ringing in about 30 seconds. Developers can instead install the Node.js, Python, or LangChain SDK, or call the REST API directly, to provision numbers, place calls with an outbound instruction, and read back the call transcript through an events connection. The CLI is installed with npm.

Dial provisions US, Canadian, and international phone numbers through the API in seconds, and supports blue-bubble iMessage with automatic RCS or SMS fallback, two-way worldwide SMS, and inbound or outbound voice calls with real-time transcription and text-to-speech replies. A unified webhook delivers every channel, call, SMS, iMessage, and WhatsApp, in the same format, and the MCP server works out of the box with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and Grok. Dial holds GDPR, SOC 2, CCPA certification and HIPAA compliance.

Dial charges per number and per minute or message rather than a flat subscription: a Virtual number costs $3 per month plus metered calls and messages, a Local number costs $35 per month with iMessage and WhatsApp add-ons, and an All Channels number bundling Local, iMessage, and WhatsApp costs $300 per month. Every account starts with $5 of free credit and no credit card required, and WhatsApp access is allowlist-only.
