Cutback is a suite of AI video-editing tools built around two products: Selects, described as an AI-native video editor that takes you from raw footage to a finished video, and Premiere Assistant, a plugin that automates captions and editing tasks inside Adobe Premiere Pro. It is aimed at video editors and creators, from solo creators making shortform videos to professional teams and organizations.

Selects automates the prep phase of editing: syncing clips, generating transcripts, organizing footage and building pre-selects in minutes. Premiere Assistant works as a plugin inside Premiere, automating captions and animations so editors spend less time on repetitive tasks. Cutback is listed as an Official Adobe Video Partner and states it is SOC 2 Type II compliant.

Premiere Assistant transcribes video, edits and animates captions, translates captions, trims video, edits multi-camera footage, removes silences automatically, and animates clips with AI image editing; captions can be imported or exported. Plans track usage limits such as transcription hours per month, silence-removal uses and the number of cameras supported in multi-cam editing.

Premiere Assistant offers a free Starter plan, a Lite plan at $8 per month, a Basic plan at $13 per month, a Pro plan with multi-device support and corporate card billing, and a custom Enterprise plan reached by contacting sales. Paid plans can be billed monthly or yearly, with up to 14% off on yearly billing, and up to 2 devices can be registered per account on the Pro plan.
