Cross Stitch Pattern Maker (StitchCraft)

StitchCraft is a pattern maker that turns a photo or an AI-generated sketch into a printable cross stitch chart matched to DMC embroidery floss colors. It is aimed at cross stitchers who want to convert their own images, or new ideas created with AI, into a stitchable pattern without specialised charting software.

A user uploads a photo or describes an image with an AI prompt, with an optional reference image, and both paths lead to the same pattern studio. The tool matches the image to DMC floss colors with thread codes and stitch counts, and lets the user adjust the stitch grid and Aida fabric count before checking the finished dimensions.

StitchCraft exports a printable PDF chart with a symbol key and DMC floss legend, or a PNG, and photo-to-chart conversion runs directly in the browser. A smaller color palette can be set for a simpler project, and the current converter fills every grid cell, including the background.

Photo-to-chart conversion, DMC color lists, and PNG exports are free and unlimited, with 5 free PDF exports per account; new accounts also receive 30 welcome credits. Paid credit packs cost $9.90, $24.90, or $69.00 as one-time purchases valid for 180 days, and monthly or yearly subscriptions add unlimited PDF exports and AI generation at 8 credits per run.
