About AI Texture Studio

AI Texture Studio is a browser-based tool that turns a text prompt, a reference photo or an existing texture into a tileable texture and a matching set of PBR material maps. It is built for 3D artists, game developers, indie teams and technical artists who would otherwise search asset libraries, hide seams by hand, bake maps and pack channels before a material can be used in an engine.

Work runs through five steps in one workspace. The user describes or uploads a surface, and AI Texture Studio generates a first tile that repeats on both the X and Y axes in about 10 seconds, with a checker that shows a 2 × 2 repeat. It then derives Base Color, Normal, Roughness, Metalness and Height as one coordinated set, previews the maps together on a 3D surface, and exports them with engine presets.

Separate entry points sit beside the Studio: an AI Texture Generator for a single tileable image, an AI Material Generator for a text-to-PBR set, Image to PBR that removes baked lighting from a photo, a free in-browser PBR Map Generator that estimates maps locally, and a Texture Upscaler for 2x or 4x enlargement up to 8K. Exports cover Unreal ORM packs, Unity Mask Maps, Blender nodes and Godot. A prompt library sorted by material family opens directly in Studio.

A Free plan gives 10 starter credits, 1K output and public assets only. Plus costs $19.99 a month, or $14 a month billed annually at $168, with 9,600 credits a year, private assets and engine exports. Pro is $49.99 a month, or $38 billed annually at $456, with 30,000 credits a year and a priority queue. One-time credit packs run from $9.99 for 200 credits to $59.99 for 2,000, valid for 90 to 365 days.

Use cases

  • Environment and prop textures for games, delivered as a complete material set in the engine's channel packing
  • Facade material concepts for architectural visualisation ahead of client reviews
  • Exploring organic finish directions in product design
  • Fantasy surfaces for an indie game world without a separate material pipeline
  • Converting an existing surface photo into a full set of PBR maps

Key features

  • Text prompt to a texture that tiles on both X and Y axes
  • Five coordinated PBR maps: Base Color, Normal, Roughness, Metalness and Height
  • Image to PBR converts a photo into de-lit material maps
  • 2x or 4x texture upscaling up to 8K
  • 3D material preview before export
  • Engine export presets for Unreal ORM, Unity Mask Map, Blender and Godot
  • Tiling checker that verifies the X and Y axes on a 2 × 2 repeat
  • Free in-browser PBR Map Generator that estimates maps locally
  • Prompt library of textures by material family that opens in Studio
  • First material result in about 10 seconds

Frequently asked questions

Can the generated textures be used commercially?
Yes, on paid tiers: generated textures and materials can be used in commercial games, films, ArchViz renderings and merchandise without royalties.
Are the textures tileable?
Yes. The workflow produces tiles that repeat on both the X and Y axes without visible seam lines.
Which PBR maps are produced?
Five coordinated maps: Basecolor, Normal, Roughness, Metalness and Height.
Which engines are supported for export?
Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity and Godot, each with its own map and channel packing structure.
Can a photo be uploaded to make PBR maps?
Yes. Image to PBR takes a photo or image reference, removes the baked lighting and prepares tileable material maps.
How many credits does a generation cost?
It depends on the workflow, output size, map count and upscale setting; new accounts get 10 starter credits and the exact cost is shown before generating.
Can generated material maps be upscaled?
Yes. Generated textures and maps can continue into the Texture Upscaler for 2x or 4x enlargement.
