AI Genie

AI Genie is an iPhone and iPad app for making images and animations with AI. It is listed on the App Store as Photo to Video AI - AI Genie and is sold by Gabriel Hohener. The app turns text prompts into pictures, animates still photos, replaces elements inside existing photos and extends images beyond their original borders. It is aimed at beginner artists and experienced creators, and at people producing content for social media.

Work in AI Genie starts with one of four modes: Create, Animate, Edit or Expand. In Create mode the user types a text prompt and taps Create, and the app generates an image from it. Animate takes a photo the user supplies and turns it into a moving video, Edit replaces chosen elements in a photo, and Expand outpaints an image so that new content appears around its edges.

For ideas, AI Genie offers a library of templates and an Inspire button that suggests fresh prompts. The app is used for detailed portraits, animations, images for social media posts and character designs for games. Finished pieces can be shared with the app's community of creators. The developer states that no personal data is stored or used, and that the app can be used straight after download.

AI Genie is free to download with in-app purchases. Pro access costs $12.99 a month or $69.99 a year, with a weekly Pro trial at $5.99, and credit packs sell at $3.99 for 100, $5.99 for 200 and $9.99 for 400 credits. The app requires iOS 15.0 or later and also runs on iPad, on Macs with an Apple M1 chip or later and on Apple Vision. Its interface is available in English and 25 other languages.
