Windows Copilot

Windows Copilot is introduced as a centralized AI assistant in Windows 11, designed to help users take action, customize settings, and connect across apps and tools. The side bar remains available across apps and windows, acting as a personal assistant that can rewrite, summarize or explain content. It is part of the Windows Copilot experience aimed at enabling users to focus on ideas and tasks rather than switching between apps.

Windows Copilot works with Bing Chat and first- and third-party plugins, enabling developers to integrate their apps within Windows Copilot to serve customers and increase engagement on native Windows applications. The feature emphasizes interoperation with existing Windows features and the broader AI tooling ecosystem, including models and toolchains for developers.

Dev Home is introduced as a new productivity companion for developers on Windows, available in preview, with features like WinGet configuration, Dev Drive, and a customizable dashboard to track workflows and tasks. It includes integration points with GitHub, Dev Box, and GitHub Codespaces. The overall aim is to streamline setup, coding environments, and project onboarding.
