TypeAce

TypeAce is an AI keyboard companion for iPhone and iPad from developer Toh Kar Le. It is designed to sit alongside the Apple native keyboard rather than replace it, filling gaps so that writing tasks can be done inside whatever app is open. It is for people who draft emails, notes, social media posts and messages on their phone and want ChatGPT and translation within reach while typing.

TypeAce runs as a keyboard, so its functions are available in any app without switching away. Built-in ChatGPT acts as a writing co-pilot for composing a blog post in a writing app or replying to a message in a chat app. Commonly used prompts can be saved as custom commands, and a chat history keeps past requests, so a tone shift or a translation can be retrieved again later.

Other capabilities include Text-To-Speech, Text-To-English, which converts text from various languages into English, and built-in Google Translate for translating text without leaving the current app. Saved Paste stores frequently used information such as work and personal email addresses, mobile numbers and postal addresses for pasting into any app. The developer states that no data is collected from the app.

TypeAce is free to download with in-app purchases: a Monthly Subscription at $3.99, an Annual Subscription at $9.99, Life Time Access at $24.99 and a Use Your Own API Key option at $9.99. It requires iOS 16.0 or iPadOS 16.0 or later, runs on Macs with an Apple M1 chip on macOS 13.0 or later and on Apple Vision with visionOS 1.0 or later, and is in English.
