Solid Diary

Solid Diary is a journaling app for iPhone, iPad and Mac from Solid Apps. Entries are encrypted, readable only by the writer, and can be locked behind a biometric lock. When the writer wants a second opinion, an AI analysis reads what was written and describes the meaning behind it. It is intended for people who want a private place to reflect at the end of the day and understand their emotions better.

A user writes an entry, applies formatting and tags to keep it organised, and attaches as many images, voice recordings and sketches as needed. Tapping the date or greeting at the top opens a calendar of all entries, and tapping a date scrolls to it. On request, Solid Diary runs its AI analysis on the writing and returns a deeper reading of what it expresses.

Solid Diary includes 4 themes to choose from, and stats and achievements that unlock over time to encourage regular writing. Data is encrypted and accessible only to the user, and the developer collects only contact, usage and diagnostic data that is not linked to identity. It is a universal app, so the same purchase covers iOS, iPadOS and macOS, and it also runs on Apple Vision.

There is no subscription: Solid Diary is unlocked with a one-time purchase of $4.99, or all 10 Solid Apps can be unlocked together for $9.99, and purchases can be shared through Family Sharing. The app requires iOS 16.0, iPadOS 16.0 or macOS 13.0 or later. It is available in English and is rated 9+ because it contains health or wellness topics.
