About FoldSum

FoldSum is a browser extension that summarizes selected text on any web page to improve reading efficiency. It is built for Chrome and Chrome-based browser users who read long web content and want a quick summary without leaving the page.

After installing the extension, users open a logged-in ChatGPT or POE page in one tab, then switch to another page, select text, and click the Summarize button; FoldSum sends the request to the open ChatGPT or POE tab and replaces the selected text inline with the generated summary.

FoldSum supports unlimited summarization of selected text on any webpage, inline replacement of the original text with the summary, layered nested summaries, and translation of the summarized content into multiple languages, using the user's own logged-in ChatGPT or POE session rather than a separate paid service.

FoldSum works with Chrome, Brave, Arc, and other Chrome-based browsers, is 100% free to use with no extra token cost, and does not collect any user information. It does not currently support keyboard shortcuts or custom prompt formats for generating summaries.
