Fairy Tales AI is an iPhone and iPad app from Applitic, a developer based in Stockholm, that creates personalized children's books with AI. It writes an original story tailored to a child's interests, so that the child appears in the adventure, and pairs the story with custom illustrations. The app is aimed at people who want a one-of-a-kind storybook for a particular child in a few minutes.

The user gives Fairy Tales AI some input about the child and the story, and the app develops a unique storyline from it. An AI model writes the story; an update moved story generation to an improved model with better word choices and more complex storylines. The app then generates illustrations that accompany the story, and another update improved the art styles and made character appearances more consistent.

Beyond the digital book, Fairy Tales AI lets the user order the finished story as a physical copy. The printed edition comes in a durable hardcover format and is printed in full color.
