About Drive Guardian AI

Drive Guardian AI is an iPhone and iPad app from GENOVA Softworks that turns the device into a dash cam. It records trips with the main back camera, overlays the front camera view, a map and driving data such as speed, time and location, and saves the footage, which can serve as insurance proof. It is for drivers who want a dash cam without buying separate hardware.

The device sits horizontally in a standard phone holder at the centre of the dash, and recording supports CarPlay. Drive Guardian AI saves the main back camera at up to 4K, a front camera overlay, a map video overlay, and text showing speed, latitude and longitude, date and time. Both the ultra wide and wide angle cameras can be selected, and resolutions up to 4K are supported where the device allows.

The AI driver-assistance features cover three areas. Front collision and distance warning detects when the vehicle ahead is too close or a collision might occur and warns the driver. Speed limit sign detection reads limits through AI and can play an alert when the current limit is exceeded. Drowsiness alerts use the front camera to check the driver continuously and play multiple alerts to keep them awake.

A remote parking mode turns off the screen and streams the camera feed live to another device through a simple link. Speed limit detection currently covers Europe, Australia, Japan, the UK and Russia only, and a subscription is required to fully access the app: Weekly Unlock at $2.99, Monthly Unlock at $4.99 or Yearly Unlock at $24.99. Drive Guardian AI requires iOS 15.0 or later, is in English only, and collects usage data not linked to identity.
