ChecksPlag is an online plagiarism and AI-writing detection tool that scans submitted text against a large database of online sources. It is built for students, educators and business professionals who want to confirm that a document, essay or report is original before submitting or publishing it.

A user uploads a document or pastes text in formats such as Doc, Docx, Txt or Pdf, or submits a URL. ChecksPlag's algorithms compare the submission against its database to find matches, and within minutes return an originality report that flags copied passages and sections suspected of being AI-generated, which the user can then review and edit.

ChecksPlag identifies several forms of plagiarism, including direct copying and paraphrasing without citation, and separately flags AI-generated sections through its AI detection option. Reports show the sources behind flagged matches so a user can see where a passage came from, and the service checks texts in minutes regardless of length.

ChecksPlag offers API and LMS integration along with a free download option, and supports multiple interface languages. Paid plans are billed per word checked: Light costs $0.23 per 1,000 words or $22.95 a month, Standard costs $0.12 per 1,000 words or $34.95 a month, and Premium costs $0.09 per 1,000 words or $54.95 a month, each limited to 1 plagiarism submission and 1 AI submission.
