Boords

Boords is a preproduction sign-off tool for video agencies and brand teams. It keeps scripts, storyboards, animatics and client approvals in one place, and includes Boords Agent, an AI assistant that can import a script, generate frames, restyle a sequence or translate frame copy. It was founded in London in 2015 and remains independent.

A user pastes or imports a screenplay, treatment or brief, and Boords breaks it into structured scenes and storyboard frames automatically. Frame artwork can be generated from text prompts using a saved cast and style, pulled from more than 3 million stock assets, or uploaded as stills, and a single region of an approved frame can be regenerated without redrawing the rest.

The platform turns an approved board into a timed animatic with voiceover or music, exports as PDF, PowerPoint, Word, a spreadsheet, images or MP4, and opens in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or After Effects. Clients comment on individual frames and approve a board through a shared link without creating an account, and every version, comment and approval is timestamped on an activity trail.

A free plan includes five active storyboards, three active scripts and unlimited manual frames, with free-plan exports carrying a watermark. Paid plans run from Solo at $39 a month for one user and 250 AI images, up to Agency at $250 a month for up to 30 users and 3,000 AI images, with an Enterprise tier available by custom quote; an MCP server connects Boords to Claude and ChatGPT on every plan, including Free.
