Athennian AI builds entity records from source documents and gives cited answers on governance data for audit, diligence and KYC work in Athennian.
Athennian AI is the artificial intelligence layer of Athennian, a cloud-based entity management platform for legal, finance, tax and compliance teams. It is meant to move corporate governance from a system of record to a system of action: it builds and updates entity records from source documents and answers complex questions across an entire entity portfolio with citations, so that audit, diligence and KYC work moves faster for corporate groups, funds, real estate investors and professional services firms.
Athennian Intelligence interprets a user's query, retrieves the relevant passages from the organization's minute book documents and connects information across entities into a structured answer. Every answer carries a direct citation that links to the source section for validation, and when the information is not in the minute books the system says so instead of guessing. AI agents also extract changes from formation and change documents, but each update needs a user's review and approval before it is applied.
Typical questions cover signing authority, ownership structures and resolutions over time, such as which entities had recent ownership changes; a KYC request can be phrased as a prompt to extract all ultimate beneficial owners above 25% with their formation documents. Athennian AI also summarizes and translates governance documents and handles data entry for onboarding and M&A. The wider platform adds entity and people records, cap tables, structure charts, document management, appointments and compliance task tracking.
Athennian is sold in three tiers. Essentials costs $25,000/year with 100 entities included, while Professional (200 entities) and Enterprise (300 entities) are priced through sales. Athennian Intelligence and Athennian AI Core are add-ons on every tier, and extra entities come in bundles of 50. Access to AI results follows role-based permissions set by admins, and the platform integrates with iManage, Office 365, Google Drive, FileForms, DocuSign, Adobe Sign and Slack, with an open API.
